Techniques Of Hair Restoration DE

By Douglas Sanders

Medical hair restoration methods and transplantation have been researched for decades on end. The estimation is that almost 90 percent of all men do experience some form of male pattern baldness at one point. There however is some variance that is based on medical and genetic factors. When considering hair restoration DE residents should know the various techniques that can be used. There are two categories of treatment, surgical and non-surgical.

Non-surgical options do not need any form of transplantation and have been used for years. They come in many forms. Most of such treatments are however not effective when it comes to restoration and one might waste money on them. Over time however, there are two medications that have emerged that are affordable and effective. They are actually the only two drugs approved by the FDA for hair restoration.

One of the drugs is finasteride. It is a prescription only drug that restores hair and is marketed as propecia. It is administered as a pill taken daily and leads to different degrees of regrowth over a number of months. It however should however not be used by women that are pregnant or those planning to get pregnant. This is because tit causes birth defects in the unborn. Women are not supposed to use Propecia or even handle it. It is able to be absorbed through skin.

The other option is Minoxidil. This option is available for use by men and women. It is marketed as Rogaine. It is a topical restoration treatment that gets applied on the scalp on a daily basis for promotion of hair growth. The results are varied but are realized in several months. Both of these options are easy to use and are effective in varying degrees. The disadvantage of the methods is that should their use be stopped, hair growth already achieved gets lost.

Surgical methods are becoming more popular and involve surgical procedures and techniques. There are various surgical options one can consider. There is hair transplant surgery that is very common technique. It is a minimally invasive technique when compared to other options. It produces very excellent results in many patients. Over time also, it has become safer and easier.

The question on the best method to use will depend on the particular patient. The best technique depends on the doctor doing the right diagnosis on what the cause of the loss is. It will also depend on what the individual is willing to spend on their treatment, and how patients they are.

Non-surgical techniques are easier to apply and are more discreet than surgical options. The medications are also easily available over the counter in the case of Rogaine. They are however not effective for everyone and will take slightly more time to see results, they will thus need patience.

Surgical methods are costlier and will require more effort on the part of the patient. Recovery time is varied depending on a patient and treatment option. More invasive procedures will take more time to heal. They are also difficult to hide.
